Message The turbos are not near as laggy as I thought they might be. The best comparison I can give is to compare this setup to the TD 05 setup we had on the previous round of mods.

If you were to go from a dead stop, the 2835's would spool slightly slower. Basically, just laggy enough to get you through first gear without blowing the hades out of the tires and having to short shift to second gear. In my opinion, this makes the 2835's more drivable.

Also, there is a difference with respect to response on the highway. At 4,000 rpms in 3rd gear, the TD 05's responded immediately when you hit the throttle. The 2835's do wait around for a second or so before coming alive.

Here is the performance difference to date. I have still yet to take it above 6,500 rpms or 1.3 bar because I want some dyno time first. However, all I can say is that this car is THE FASTEST THING I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. In a nut shell, this setup is much faster at 1.3 bar on pump gas than the TD 05's were on race fuel and 1.8 bar.

I did roll into the throttle in third gear from 4,000 rpms to 6,400 rpms. I shifted to fourth and ran the car up to 6,500 rpms. Above 6,000 rpms in fourth gear, the rear tires started spinning badly. That was a very interesting sensation and more than a little surprising. My guess would be everybit of 600+rwhp at that boost level.

In a nutshell, I could not be happier with the way the car runs. It idles like stock, drives like stock, and the clutch is wonderful. It is a DREAM to drive and if we put down rwhp anywhere in the vicinity of where we think we will, I will not go with a stand alone system.

We plan on dynoing on pump gas this Friday. I will not heat soak the motor for tuning and then do some high boost pulls - that will be for next week.

I will keep everyone posted as we progress.

Bryan
